BIKANDI Reserva, best wine in the world above 15 pounds sterling made with Spanish grape varieties in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2018.
Haro, 29th of May 2018.- Prestigious English magazine, DECANTER; has chosen BIKANDI Reserva as “PLATINUM BEST IN SHOW”, the best wine in the world over 15 pounds sterling made with Spanish grape varieties. They gave it a score of 98 points.
This great Rioja wine from Bodegas Viña Olabarri was the best in its category at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2018 (DWWA), the world’s largest and most prestigious wine contest, internationally recognised for its rigorous tasting process and tasting panel.
Thousands of wines from around the globe have entered this competition and have been judged by a panel of 244 experts (69 Masters of Wine, 26 Master Sommeliers, 36 experts from each major appellation and the journalists currently writing in Decanter Magazine) presided over by Steven Spurrier and Gerard Basset. The contest was held in London between April 30th and May 4th, where the jury decided which wines, according to their criteria, were the best, working in small teams according to their individual speciality. Subsequently, between the 8th and 11th May, a specific tasting took place of those wines that had been awarded a Platinum Medal.
