Characteristics of the awarded wine
Viña Olabarri Gran Reserva 2015 is not yet availailable but it will not take long to see it released to the market so that we can all enjoy it!
However, from Bodegas Olabarri we can advance that our Gran Reserva 2015 has been made using the queen grape variety in Rioja — tempranillo and it has been aged in our cellar excavated in solid rock dating 19th C. for 36 months followed by another 24 months of fining in the bottle. This wine is only released at its optimum moment of consumption.
Vintage 2015 was rated as “Very good” by the Consejo Regulador DO Rioja. These are wines with a great potential for being laid down, fresh, intense and lingering.
They are definitely wines with a good backbone and of velvety tannins.
